Honest comparison · 2026

Document tracking tools compared.
Why heatmaps change everything.

Knowing a prospect opened your proposal is useful. Knowing they spent 4 minutes on your pricing page and skipped your case studies entirely is the information that actually changes how you follow up.

Free plan available. No credit card required.

March 2025: DocSend removed its free plan and raised prices to $45–$180/month. Thousands of founders and sales teams are looking for a better option. Here is what is available.

The core difference

Most tools tell you someone opened your doc.
Tracklytics tells you what they actually read.

01Attention mapping

Heatmaps on every page

See exactly which sections of each page captured attention. Not just time-on-page. Actual spatial engagement data overlaid directly on your document.

02Lead intelligence

AI engagement scoring

Tracklytics scores each viewer session by engagement depth. Know who is genuinely interested before you spend time on a follow-up call.

03Fair pricing

Pricing that makes sense

Flat-rate plans starting free. No per-user seat fees. Add extra doc credits or file size boosts when you need them, not forced upgrades.

Common questions

How is Tracklytics different from DocSend?

DocSend shows you which slides were viewed and for how long. Tracklytics adds heatmaps (spatial attention maps showing where on each page viewers focused), scroll depth tracking, and AI engagement scoring. DocSend also removed its free plan in March 2025 and now starts at $45/month.

Does Tracklytics work with any document type?

Tracklytics works with PDF documents. You upload your proposal, pitch deck, or report and share a trackable link. We are working on additional format support including Word and PowerPoint with automatic PDF conversion.

Can I switch from DocSend to Tracklytics easily?

Yes. You upload your documents, set up your gates (email, password, LinkedIn), and share the new links. There is no technical migration. Your existing DocSend links would continue working on your old account until you cancel it.

What do heatmaps actually show?

For each page of your document, Tracklytics overlays a colour-coded heatmap showing where viewer attention was concentrated. Warmer colours (red, orange) indicate high attention. This tells you whether your key messages and pricing sections are actually being read, not just scrolled past.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan includes 3 documents per month with basic view and click tracking. No credit card required to start.

How does AI engagement scoring work?

Tracklytics analyses each viewer session: time spent, pages read, scroll depth, and return visits. It produces an engagement score, and high-scoring sessions are surfaced in your dashboard so you know who to follow up with first.
